Main window of the Editor consists of the following parts (see Figure 1).

  1. Main menu
  2. Tab view "Class details"
  3. Tree view – to view the RDL class tree of the target model (see chapter 4.1).
  4. Class details – to view detailed information of a selected RDL class (see chapter 4.2).
  5. Auxiliary panels – to view the result of an RDL class search (see chapter 4.3.2), an RDL data import or an RDL data validation (see chapter 4.3.1).
  6. Tabs of other auxiliary panels – to view the content of other panels click the corresponding tab.
  7. Current date and time status bar.
  8. Progress of current command on status bar – to show progress during command execution.

The main window caption contains the name of the application - "PLCS RDL Editor" and its version. There are 6 panels that can be docked to any side of the main window by user convenience. For instance, "Tree view" panel is per default docked to the left side. It can be dragged by mouse pointer to the right side of the main window. "Import log", "Find result" and "Validation log" panels are combined to one panel, but they can be split into three panels and docked to another side of the main window. "Class details" panel can be floatable (not docked). In this case the panel can be moved into a second screen Any panel can be placed to a second screen. At least two screens should be used. And "Extended Desktop" operating mode is chosen..
