INSTALLING SOFTWARE

 
This section discusses the way in which EXPRESS Data Manager software is distributed. The EXPRESS Data Manager accept the white space character as delimiter between file names in "file name" and "directory name" arguments. Hence, to avoid confusion and possible malfunctions, we recommend avoiding using file and directory names containing the white space character as parameters to EDMsupervisor commands or as arguments to EDMinterface operations. Especially the EDM_HOME configuration parameter should not contain any white space character. The default location is C:\edm.

To install the software, execute the edmsix_installer.exe and follow the standard Windows application installation procedure.

Note: the uninstall shield removes the contents of folder "%EDM_HOME%", but not the folder it self. Please remove this old folder also.
