INSTALLING SOFTWARE

...

This section discusses the way in which _ EXPRESS Data Manager _ software is distributed.
The _ EXPRESS Data Manager _ accept the white space character as delimiter between file names in "file name" and "directory name" arguments. Hence, to avoid confusion and possible malfunctions, we recommend avoiding using file and directory names containing the white space character as parameters to _ EDMsupervisor _ commands or as arguments to _ EDMinterface _ operations.
Especially the EDM_HOME configuration parameter should not contain any white space character. The default location is C:\Program files\Jotne\edmEDMsix.

Note
titleFirewall

If you are using other firewall application than the Windows firewall you have to manually add the correct innbound and outbound rules for the edmserver.exe and edmappserver.exe applications or their ports to the firewall application.

Tip
titlePort number used by EDM

The ports used for EDM depend on the given port number. The edmserver.exe application shall use the given port number and the edmappserver.exe will use the following port numbers .e.g. if you enter port number 9090 than the edmserver.exe will use this port number and the first edmappserver.exe will use port number 9091, the second will use 9092 etc..
