INSTALLING SOFTWARE

 
This section discusses the way in which _EXPRESS Data Manager_ software is distributed.
The _EXPRESS Data Manager_ accept the white space character as delimiter between file names in "file name" and "directory name" arguments. Hence, to avoid confusion and possible malfunctions, we recommend avoiding using file and directory names containing the white space character as parameters to _EDMsupervisor_ commands or as arguments to _EDMinterface_ operations.
Especially the EDM_HOME configuration parameter should not contain any white space character. The default location is C:\edm.

Setup

 

Windows

The _EXPRESS Data Manager_ for Windows version is supplied in _InstallShield_ file format. To install the software, simply follow the standard Windows application installation procedure.

Note: the uninstall shield removes the contents of folder "%EDM_HOME%", but not the folder it self. Please remove this old folder also.
