xpfStringToInstanceId

FUNCTION xpfStringToInstanceId (aString : STRING)
                                instanceId  : GENERIC;
                

The function will only return an instanceId when the actual returned instanceId is an existing instance in the actual data base. When the actual instanceId is not a valid id, these functions will fail, return the value xpxNULLID and throw an exception.
