Running the installation wizard

The installation wizard is one executable file. Its file name contains the version identifier of the PLCS RDL Editor.
PLCS_RDL_Editor_[version]_EDMsix.exe
where [version] is version tag of the application.
Only users with administrator rights can install the application. The "Welcome" page of the installation wizard informs about the version of the application. The user needs to click the "Next" button to continue the installation.
"License Agreement" presents the text of the software license agreement. The user needs to click "I Agree" to accept the agreement. In this case the installation will be continued.
"Choose Install Location" lets the user choose the RDL Editor installation folder. The default destination folder can be changed. To install the RDL Editor in a different folder, click "Browse" and select another folder. It is not recommended to install the RDL Editor to "Program Files" or any other system folder, as some of the RDL Editor system files are changed during operation. "Choose Install Location" informs about available (free) space and required space.
To finally install the application, click "Install".
The "Installing" wizard page shows installation progress and action log.
The RDL Editor requires .NET Framework 4.5 or later. It is available in Windows 10 by default.
Users of Windows 7 will be asked to install .NET Framework if it was not installed, yet. Internet connection is required during installation of .NET Framework About 230 Mb will be downloaded from the Web during installation of .NET Framework..
The RDL Editor requires Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 64-bit. JRE 8 shall be downloaded and installed if it was not installed yet. See JRE Installation for Microsoft Windows (64-bit). Internet connection is required during installation of JRE.
The final wizard page informs that the RDL Editor has been installed. The RDL Editor requires an EDM license. Checkbox "Install EDM license" is checked by default and causes the application to launch InstallLicenseKey.exe after the user has clicked "Finish".
