EDMinterface is an Application Programming Interface (API) to the EDMdatabase and EDMexpressVM It complies with ISO 10303-22 (SDAI) and the following interfaces are available:

  • late binding with interfaces to C/C++, Java

  • early binding with interfaces to C/C++, Java,.NET

  • data formats such as ISO 10303-21, ISO 10303-28 (XML), HTML and ASCII.

EDMinterface will initially give information according to the underlying schema and a low-level interface to operate. This schema may for many reasons not be very suitable for one particular application. Industrial data standards are defined to support interoperability and the objects may be very abstract. Jotne EPM Technology AS therefore offers a business object concept implemented as a VIEW_ENTITY. This will be a higher level interface fully supported by the EDMinterface.
